The Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru in association with Department of Health & Family Welfare, Tumkur organised a 5 day “Induction Training” for newly appointed medical officers and specialists in Tumkur district, between 1st February to 5th February, 2016. The training was conducted in the premises of the District Health Office.
This is a first of it’s kind training in the state of Karnataka, Tumkur being the first district to organise such an induction training.
Objectives:
As these medical officers are new to the system, the need to orient them about their role and responsibilities was the main objective of this training programme. The topics covered were relevant to the aforementioned objective and included technical knowledge with a combination of leadership and managerial skills.About Participants
Participants:
The training programme was attended by twenty-six (26) recently appointed Primary Health Centre Medical officers and five (5) Specialists. These participants had been recruited by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and placed at various primary health centres and taluka hospitals across Tumkur district, respectively. Majority of the participants were from Bangalore while the rest were from other districts within Karnataka.Topics Covered
