Dr. Upendra Bhojani, a faculty at the Institute of Public Health, facilitated a session on ‘Non Communicable & Chronic Diseases/Conditions’ on 14th of May 2012 for the Block Program Mangers.

The session began with an elaborate discussion on the difference between communicable & non communicable, chronic & acute diseases/conditions, the nature and course of such diseases/conditions, causes and management.  Special focus was provided to explanation of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. The participants were then encouraged to discuss on the present health system and the quality of its response to both communicable and non-communicable disease. The session ended with an overview of various national programs undertaken for non-communicable diseases/conditions.
