Dr. Sukanya Mohanty, Consultant with the SPEAK team at IPH, Bengaluru, will be presenting a seminar titled “Understanding health exposures and vulnerabilities of women workers.” This seminar is based on her doctoral thesis at CSMCH, JNU under Prof. Ritupriya Mehrotra. The seminar speaks of health from a lens of social determinants of health (SDH) and is based on the experiences of work change of women construction and domestic workers due to health and other reasons. The method used is case study and the perspective applied here is gender based SDH (Sen & Ostlin 2007). In its critique, the presentation brings in certain revelations about health as a reason of women’s work changes and SDH.

You are invited to attend the seminar in person or join the live seminar via Zoom using the link provided at the top of the page.

The research agenda especially in the context of maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, etc. have been shifting and needs to shift from understanding the problem to actually intervening and testing solutions in health care systems. This Certificate course in Implementation Research Methods (eIR) course will improve the capacity of researchers to answer implementation research questions.
