Tobacco and Political Concerns

This is a research study that aims to understand varying interests of elected leaders in India with regard to tobacco. The study uses qualitative methods to analyze questions and debates conducted in both houses of parliament since 2014. Using thematic analysis, the study proposes to identify varying concerns that elected leaders express in the parliament and through that the politics of tobacco control in India.

This study is funded by the Institute of Public Health.
