Participatory community-based interventions for substance use - CTRITH

Participatory community-based interventions for substance use - CTRITH

Project duration - 2021-2026

Program Brief

As a part of the Centre for Training, Research and Innovation in Tribal Health (CTRITH), the team in IPH Bengaluru is utilising theory-driven (realist) approaches for developing and implementing the interventions. Hosa Jeevana is focused on addressing harmful substance use among adults through a combination of clinic and community-based package of care. One All is a sports-based intervention aimed at improving mental health resilience and promoting positive mental health among the Adivasi youth. Through implementing these interventions, CTRITH hopes to develop models that can be replicated in other settings by generating evidence on what works, for whom, and under what conditions. The realist approach is being implemented in collaboration with the team from Realist Evaluation Advancement Lab for Implementation Strategy Explanations (REALISE).

Objectives

To identify evidence-informed group interventions for peer support for tribal households affected by harmful substance use, and implement them using participatory methods.
