Advocacy for stronger road safety and transport legislation in India

The overall purpose of the project is to advocate for an effective national road safety legislation in India. Key objectives included to generate support from Karnataka towards introduction and passage of the Road Transport and Safety Bill (RTSB) in the Indian parliament and to work with relevant government authorities for rapid formulation and notification of Rules (RTSB) without further dilutions for effective implementation by the state government. This work was funded by the Global Road Safety Partnership/ IFRC
