Pragati B Hebbar (Assistant Director Research and DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance Fellow)

Pragati is a dentist by education, with an MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology. She completed her PhD in health systems research at Maastricht University, Netherlands. Her PhD and DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance early-career fellowship aimed to understand the implementation of tobacco control policy interventions in India to document what works why, where, and for whom. The work utilized an implementation research approach and theory-driven inquiry methods to decipher the phenomena of implementation. Currently she is leading research under a DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance Intermediate category award titled REALISE. In this study she aims to explain the implementation of NCD control policy at district level using theory driven inquiry methods.
 
She completed two terms as the Assistant Director Administration in August 2022, co-leads the Chronic conditions and Public policies cluster at IPH, previously was the member secretary of the institutional ethics committee and was the President of the Gender Issues and (Prevention of) Sexual Harassment (GISH) committee.
